Bachelor of Journalism (BJ) is a 3-year undergraduate degree program in the field of Journalism and Mass Communication that candidates can pursue right after their Class 12. Bachelor of Journalism courses provide extensive knowledge to aspirants regarding various aspects of the media industry like research, reporting, compiling, writing, editing, and presentation of information. 

To be eligible to pursue the course, one must have completed 10+2, or equivalent with an aggregate of 50% or more from a recognized board/school.  English should be a compulsory subject during candidates' high school studies. Admission to BA Journalism courses is based on merit and entrance exams. Some commonly accepted entrance exams include the JMI Entrance Exam, IIMC Entrance Exam, FTII JET, and CUET. Some of the top colleges offering Bachelor of Journalism include IIMC Delhi, MCC, and Amity University. The average course fee ranges from INR 1 - 4 lakh.

After completing a BJ course, candidates can join various mass communication-related fields such as TV news channels, newspapers, radio stations, and the like. Typically the field of Journalism is divided into two broad categories, which are, Print Media and Electronic Media. Candidates who aspire to work in Electronic Media can join television, radio, or internet/ digital media companies whereas in Print Media aspirants can join newspapers, magazines, news agencies, and digests. The average salary for Bachelor of Journalism graduates ranges between INR 3 to 5 lakh.
