B. Tech Ceramic Technology is a full time four years long course divided into eight semesters. For those who are seeking admission in bachelor’s degree, it is mandatory to pass in Higher Secondary (10+2) examination with subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The admission procedure is through an entrance test, which is conducted both at the national and the state level, similar to other engineering courses.
Students have the options of working with prestigious institutes like Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Defense Metallurgical Research Laboratory (DMRL), Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) and Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), provided they fulfill the necessary job requirements. Research is also a viable option for pursuing further studies after completion of M. Tech followed by Ph.D. in Ceramic Technology especially in foreign countries.
Salary and remuneration vary from one’s expertise, experience, and the company. A graduate with the successful completion of the program can earn anywhere between 25,000 INR to 40,000 INR per month, however, it can go more than the specified range.
